Findborg Inc. ("Findborg," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Findborg platform at findborg.com — an AI-powered find engine that combines web search, AI responses, and community knowledge. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use our website, applications, and services (collectively, the "Service").
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your display name, username, email address, and password. You may optionally provide a profile photo, bio, and other profile details.
- User Content: Content you create or submit, including search queries, community posts, comments, video submissions, product/service listings (TalkTags), saved finds, and messages sent through our mail system.
- Communications: When you contact us for support or feedback, we collect the information you provide in those communications.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with the Service, including pages visited, search queries, features used, and timestamps.
- Device Information: Browser type, operating system, device type, screen resolution, and language preferences.
- Cookies and Local Storage: We use cookies and browser local storage to maintain your session, remember preferences, and improve your experience. See Section 6 for more details.

When you use features powered by third-party services, those services may provide us with limited data as described below (Section 4).

3. AI-Powered Features
Findborg uses artificial intelligence to power search results, the Borg assistant, breakdowns, and other features. When you submit a query or interact with AI features:
- Your input is processed by third-party AI providers (currently OpenAI) to generate responses.
- We may send contextual information (such as your query and relevant search results) to these providers to improve response quality.
- AI-generated content is not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or current. See our Terms of Use for disclaimers.
- We do not use your personal account information (name, email) in prompts sent to AI providers.
4. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with third-party services to provide functionality. Each operates under its own privacy policy:
- OpenAI: Powers AI responses and the Borg assistant. Queries are sent to OpenAI's API for processing.
- RabbitSearch: Powers web search results. Search queries are sent to RabbitSearch's API to retrieve relevant web results.
- Unsplash: Provides image search results. Queries are sent to Unsplash's API.
- YouTube API: Powers video search results and embedded video playback. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- SureCart: Processes subscription payments. Payment information is handled directly by SureCart and is not stored on our servers.
- BuddyPress/WordPress: Powers community features including profiles, groups, and activity feeds.
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in these cases:
- Public Content: Usernames, profile information, community posts, and submitted content are visible to other users as part of the platform's community features.
- Service Providers: With third-party providers who help us operate the Service (hosting, AI processing, payment processing), under contractual obligations to protect your data.
- Legal Requirements: When required by law, legal process, or government request, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Findborg, our users, or the public.
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
6. Cookies and Tracking
We use the following types of cookies and storage:
- Essential Cookies: Required for authentication, session management, and core functionality.
- Preference Cookies: Remember your settings, theme preferences, and recent searches.
- Local Storage: Used to cache data locally for performance (such as recent queries and UI state).
We do not currently use third-party advertising or analytics tracking cookies. If this changes, we will update this policy.
7. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as fraud prevention). Anonymized or aggregated data that cannot identify you may be retained indefinitely.

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
- Delete your account at any time through your account settings
California Residents (CCPA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
EEA/UK Residents (GDPR): You have rights under GDPR including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. Our legal basis for processing is your consent and our legitimate interest in operating the Service.

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Findborg is based in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to and processed in the U.S. and other countries where our service providers operate. By using the Service, you consent to these transfers.
