How do I remove a Brazilian pepper tree without a permit?
I have two large Brazilian peppers on my property. I know they're invasive. Do I need a permit to remove them in Hernando County?

Brazilian pepper is on Florida's noxious weed list, so you do NOT need a permit to remove it from private property — in fact, the state encourages it. You can cut it, treat the stump with triclopyr, and bag or chip it. Just don't compost it or move it to another site. Hernando County Extension has a free removal guide on their website.
Confirmed — just removed four from my backyard last month, no permit needed. Renting a chipper from Home Depot made it easy.
