Should local directories like Findborg replace Google for local search?
Google has dominated local search for years but the results feel increasingly SEO-gamed. Do you think specialized local Find Engines like Findborg can offer a better experience? What would it take for you to switch?

I'd switch for local searches in a heartbeat if the index is deep enough. Google's local results have become a parade of sponsored listings and SEO-optimized directories that link to other directories. If Findborg can surface actual local businesses with real quality signals, that's a genuine improvement.
The challenge is habit. People don't switch default search behaviors unless the alternative is dramatically better or the incumbent does something to alienate them. Findborg needs to keep expanding the local index and making sure the top results are noticeably cleaner than Google's for local queries.
