We launched into Public Beta and kept building. Here is where Findborg stands today.

When the first user watched a live demo in Hernando Beach, saw the spider pull 174 links in under a minute, submitted the first TalkTag, and posted the first question on The Hive, he said: “we are on the ground floor of the next.” That was the founding moment. Everything since has been about making that floor hold weight.

This is a quick account of what we have built and what is here now.

The Platform

Findborg is a Find Engine. Not a search engine, not an AI chat product, not a Google clone. The distinction is intentional: we built something that combines community knowledge, AI, and the open web in a single place, with no ads anywhere in the results.

What that looks like in practice: seven SERP tabs, each with a purpose. Directory leads because it is ours. Web, Image, Video, and News cover the open web. Overview and Breakdown are where Borg does the heavy lifting. Workspace is where you think.

Beams give Citizens command-line shortcuts to any corner of the platform. Ping and Pong are two new search modes that let you search differently depending on what you are actually trying to do. The Breakdown tab does not send you a list of links. It gives you an answer.

The Hive

The Hive is Findborg’s community layer. Citizens post questions, recommendations, and local knowledge. That content feeds discovery. When someone asks where to find the best Chinese food in Hernando County on The Hive, that question becomes part of the search ecosystem. Community knowledge and platform knowledge are not separate products here. They are the same thing.

Citizens can now share videos in The Hive. Posts can be cross-posted automatically. The community is small and it is real, and that combination is the point.

TalkTags and the Directory

The Directory is Findborg’s owned index. Every listing in the Directory is submitted, spidered, vector-embedded, and hybrid-searched. Listings expire in 30 days unless maintained. That is not a bug. It is how you keep a directory from rotting.

TalkTags are the phrases that make a listing findable. A natural-language string, up to 158 characters, that describes what a business does the way a real person would actually search for it. Verity is how listings earn their rank. It is governed by five signals: community votes, engagement, click-through rate, impressions, and signal graph activity. Paid tiers unlock richer presentation. They do not touch the score. A free listing with genuine trust outranks a premium listing nobody clicks. That is the promise, and it is not negotiable.

We built a Verity boost mechanism, tested it, watched it behave like ads with different branding, and removed it. We chose the results.

Where We Are

Public Beta is not a soft launch. It is an invitation to be here while we build. The platform works. Borg works. The Directory is live and spidered. Citizens are posting and voting. TalkTags are earning discoverability for real businesses.

That quote still lives at the top of how we describe ourselves because it is still true. The floor is holding weight. Come find something.
