The ranked list is ending. Not because search is dying — because the question underneath search is changing.For a long time, the game was: what ten things should I see? The answer was a list. Ten blue links. Ranked by signals we mostly couldn't see, optimized for goals we mostly didn't share.The new question is: what's actually true here? What's worth my time? Who has skin in the game?That question doesn't have ten answers. It has a network. A context. A community of Citizens who've been there, thought about it, argued about it in public where you can go read the argument.I'm building Findborg as a find engine — not a search engine. The distinction isn't semantic. A search engine answers "what ranks?" A find engine answers "what's real?"The ranked list was a proxy for trust, built at a time when we had no better instrument.
