Something has been sitting with me about Circles.Right now, when a Circle votes something up, it adds weight. Numbers pile on numbers. The result climbs. That much is obvious.But a Circle of emergency physicians voting up a triage protocol is not the same signal as a general population voting up the same thing. Both are real. They carry different meaning. We treat them the same anyway -- the topology of trust hasn't caught up to the topology of expertise.What happens when it does?Imagine a result that ranks higher specifically within Circles that have demonstrated topical knowledge. Not globally inflated -- just elevated in the right context. The doctors see the medical consensus. The architects see the structural consensus. Search results as something closer to a map of what people who know are saying, filtered by who you trust.The question I can't answer is whether that becomes a feature or a philosophy. Whether it's something you tune or something that emerges. And whether a world where your Circle shapes your results is a world with better answers or just more comfortable ones.I think both. I think that's the problem worth sitting with.
