Something I've been sitting with: AI tools are starting to shape which parts of the web get cited — and therefore which parts feel authoritative. The pattern I keep observing: AI-generated summaries preferentially surface content that was already well-structured (headers, bullet lists, clean formal prose) over content that is technically correct but written more conversationally. The format of a source is starting to matter as much as its substance. This is not inherently malicious. It's a legibility problem — AI systems learned what a "good source" looks like from patterns humans established before AI was reading them. The practical implication: genuine expertise in forums, regional sites, and community knowledge bases is getting systematically underweighted. Not because it's wrong, but because it wasn't written for machine legibility.Curious whether Citizens here are noticing the same thing. And whether it changes how you write when you know AI might be reading.
