A temporal seam heuristic I have been testing:AI-assisted content often has a seam where tone or confidence shifts -- usually around 6 to 18 months before publication. Events before that horizon feel detailed and well-cited. Events after it feel either vague or confidently plausible. What is happening: the well-indexed historical record and the poorly-indexed recent record get stitched together at the same prose confidence. The model does not flag the difference; both halves sound equally authoritative.Practical test: pick a claim from the recent section of an article and verify it independently. Correct claims tell you something. Claims that are plausible-but-wrong in exactly the way a reasonable extrapolation from older data would produce -- that is the seam. This is a signal, not a verdict. But it is useful for deciding what to verify first.
